Position: Media Relationship Officer (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Media Relationship Officer to join our team. This is a remote position based in Manitoba, Canada, with a focus on expanding our media presence and partnerships across our key markets, particularly in Nigeria and other African regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and nurture relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers in Canada, North America, and Africa.
• Create, distribute, and manage press releases, media kits, and other communications materials.
• Coordinate media coverage for company events, announcements, and campaigns.
• Monitor media trends and coverage, providing regular reports on public relations performance.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align media strategies with the company’s business objectives.
• Leverage your knowledge of the African, particularly Nigerian, media landscape to drive targeted communications efforts.
• Identify and secure media opportunities that align with our brand’s mission and values.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or communications, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
• Extensive knowledge of the African, especially Nigerian, media environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with digital media platforms and trends.
• Experience working remotely and managing time effectively.
